codec player on win medi player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi,

I tried to play a video file (it happens to have avi extension) in my Windows Media Playerl; (it had been working fine until this came up); but now I get this message: "your trial period has expired, buy codec online at morgan-multimedia.com"; I think originally a friend had set up my player for me; I thought codec is free; where can I get a free codec player and what should I do?; for some reason, win media player seems to be "defaulting" to the codec player - when it doesnt need to - the file I was trying to play is a video from my own camera (not a retail video).

Thanks.

Is it possible to remove / uninstall the morgan codec?
