Where does the pope live? I know he lives in Rome, but what building or what is it called?

The pope lives in Vatican City in Rome. There is a building in the Vatican called the 'Papal Palace' which is full of offices and other rooms. Within the building are a few rooms called the Papal Apartment that are for the use of the pope.

Bill-- This is information which can cause great harm if it falls in the wrong hands. We ought to think twice before answering questions --any question having to do with the Church in Rome. You can never tell who's asking.

Gene,

Don't be so paranoid. This info is widely avaliable.

I'm not paranoid. There's a virtue known as prudence, is all. Though you're right, information can be had; when it's seen in secrecy over an Internet forum, the recipient could be someone you would never trust face-to- face. (No reflection on abaughman, just can't be too careful.)

The pope lives in Vatican City in Rome.

Vatican City is not "in Rome." It is separate from Rome. It is an independent nation, the smallest in the world.

Or he could ask any Roman taxi driver ... oops, forgot, the Vatican is not in Rome ;)

I understand, Bill. Yet, the Internet is a lot different. We never know who is asking. Taxi drivers are open to questioning during an investigation. Here all of it is accessible, even from great distances. You can be answering a question from somebody who just got off a plane from the middle east; speaking to a total stranger. No one can trace him in time. Doesn't that bother you, when it might concern the security of innocent people? Even of the Pope? How can we be sure?

Eugene,
Your concern it gratifying. No one is giving out classified, or even unknown info. The stuff is in the tour books at the airport in that city the Vatican is not in. If I thought I would be endangering the Holy Father, I would not be giving out the info.

In Christ,
Bill

You didn't understand me, did you? About the InternetI can be in another country. You won't necessarily know it. You just spill your guts, and haven't a clue who reads them. I know that's the worst-case scenario; you don't have to draw me a picture.

However, these aren't ordinary times. Let me state finally; if you're comfortable with such problems, go on. Just be yourself; don't let me disturb you.

Eugene,
Your caution is probably wise in this day and age.

Hi; Kevison:
Thanks for that charitable evaluation. There's nothing like being understood by your peers. You are so kind. So-- Were you actually aware of the exact place where you would find the Pope without getting a guide? By walking up to the exact address, going in and looking for his apartment? Yes. I figure you did, we know that. You're smart.

"KeV" ???

Why is the "v" capitalized?

-- (?@?.?), January 04, 2004.

Because there are to Kevins on the Ask Jesus forum and the other one goes by Kevin.. So I use KeV as my screename so there is no confusion..

KeV

But, Kevin -- that does not explain the capital "V."

If the other guy goes by "Kevin," why didn't you just go by "Kev" (small "v")? I'm trying to understand this, because the capital "V" seems so very strange! A capital "V" indicates an initial (as though your last name started with "V") or the Roman numeral for "five."

The other Kevin's last name does not start with "W," so you could have gone by "Kevin W" (rather than KeV or Kev) in the Protestant forum. Also, he is banned from the Catholic forum, so you are free to go by "Kevin" here.
