Hi

i have some chinese anime episodes and the problem is that i dont understand it!?!?!? ( no subs :P ) so i was wondering if anyone out there knows a site in where i can learn chinese ( not to subscribe to a chinese school ) ... like those free language pages where i can learn chinese from the internet any time if you can give me a site then ill be grateful :)

It's OK!!!!!!!! JUST DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN-THE WORD IS ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yeah, there are CHINESE dubs just like there are Spanish and French and English dubs. Uh....I know nothing about Chinese--To me it's a really crazy looknig language and almost every letter is a Kanji!!!!!!!!!! I know a little Spanish and Japanese, and I can fully read Japanese (Minus those damn Kanji!!!!!!!!!!), but I know nothing of Chinese. But yeah, there are Chinese dubs, Korean dubs, and others. Hell, Dragonball ALONE was translated into about 20 languages, and the same goes for other popular Anime. Random thought:

oooo mi gosh... all these ppl r sooooo... emotionally unstable, eh? in fact, i am chinese so i can speak or read or listen to it perfectli, and its probabli too hard for most ppl to just pick it up, japanese excluded, since they already kno kanji. and so, dont even try... its too hard for ya... trust me...

yeah... I'm chinesse and it's hard for me to read.... Especially if you lived in America and English is the only languauge you know... Your not gonna be able to pronounce many of the words either...

Yeah! I wouldn’t doubt that Chinese would be hard-Just last year in History seeing the way words are spelled one way and pronounced another was confusing enough!! At least in Japanese it’s not ALL difficult Kanji characters (Plus isn’t Kanji SIMPLIFIED from the Chinese characters?!) that are impossible to read unless memorized, and the words are all broken down into easy syllabicity (IE-All letters end in a vowel or an “n”). So yeah…Anyone can take a Spanish class or something in school (I was in Spanish 3 last semester), but Spanish is just a boring everyday language. I really have no use for it unless I meet a Spanish person, in which case I’d STILL be way too intimidated that I’d screw up to talk to ‘em (Course I’d feel the same about a Japanese person….I’d rather just listen and see what I could pick out with my ears than actually speak it for fear of SUCKING). I think it’s WAY more fun to learn a kick-ass language like Japanese where it’s more than learning new words and stuff, but a new alphabet and stuff!! It’s totally awesome to write something in Japanese and be the only one you know who can read it…Or maybe it’s lame, but I think it’s fun. Plus it’s pretty killer that you can take any English word and spell it out in Japanese with Katakana!!! For example when I write a story for my Doujinshii all the titles are in Japanese, and if there’s a case where I don’t happen to know a certain word…I’ll use the English word!! (Ex-“Yuragu Kotonai Ai!! Niichan to Oyako no RIYUUNYON” (Unshaken Love!! Brother Father and Son Reunion) is the title of one of my stories, in which case I don’t know the word for Reunion so I use RIYUUNYON in Katakana). But Chinese is the same only much much more complicated …I’d rather not bother as you said!! Too tough!!

By the way-Do you happen to know what a Chinese keyboard would look like? Interesting to think about!!

If you really are Chinese and i doubt that you are, then you should probably give us americans a little more credit. I spent a year in Taiwan and can fully converse with Chinese people. charaters are a different story alltogether though and yes they are ALL "Kanji" not just most. any doubts? Fang Ma Guo Lai. i am also working on Japanese now for all of you otaku that think i am a traitor. Yay!

I'm not sure if the last post was meant as sarcasm, but unless China likes doing anime re-runs, which they don't from my experience(HK anyways), then you wouldn't see Dragonball anything in China.

Hello, I am just trying to make it clear here. There are anime in ALL different kinds of languages! Bet you already knew, but oh well. And also, you can't just learn another language by going on a website! It takes years! By then, I don't think you'll still remember about that Inuyasha episode...

dont mean to burst your bubble..but Chinese is NOT an easy language to learn. i been studying it my whole life and my chinese tutor still cringes every time i read the textbook. you're better off finding episodes in english or subtitles.

Chinese is a difficult language to learn....I'd personally say Cantonese is particulary harder to learn than Mandarin/Taiwanese, because we have these "weird" sounds that we add in...they are sort of unnecessary, but we just do it...I'd be happy to help out anyone who's having trouble, but...there'll be a bit of a problem in how I can help through e-mail...=P
