I have a question about the Sony MHC-ZX70 DVD Hi-Fi system. I have this product's Asian model. Everything is okay, but it does not read CD-R. When I put in an audio CD that has been prepared on my computer and burned with Nero, it begins to make it rotate but at the end, passes the other disc tray and the LED that says CD-R goes off! I heard that some CD-R/Ws can be read by this product. What's your recommendation about this subject?

Answers

Some Sony DVD players sold in the USA did not support CD-R or CD-RW media. They did play VCD burned to CD-RW very well, even though it was not officially supported. A few brands of CD-R did work, such as Prime Peripheral, but none of the brands that worked are being made any more :-( Try burning to CD-RW as it gives you the best chance for success.

Hi, A few months ago I have read about Princo CD-R's. I've bought some and burned some Audio CD's as well as VCD's and every disc that I burned played well on my ZX70. CD-R/W is another (but more expensive) option. The color of the disc is very important.

Hi i have the MHC zx70 European model and VCD's burned on cd-r's or cd-rw's do not play even though it is supposed to read video cd's does anyone know about this?

Hi everyone all what you guys said is true but let me elaborate. MHC-ZX70 does not read CD-Rs that usually have a white surface . It reads better if it has a gold surface or the CD-R is a sony made one . Secondly, it reads well if you copy the movie onto your CD/RW . I have had mine for three years now. However, there is a new problem that has arisen lately, which is that it does not read some of the DVD formats especially the pirated ones . it used to read all of them , but lately there is a problem with it reading . A man told me that the latest pirated DVDs coming from China tend to have a new format that is not recognized by the player . the ones that used to come from malaysia or Pakistan used to work well in that brand . Hope I cleared up everything .
