Although Poe's works and efforts of poetry are highly memorable, with their brillance, beauty and morbidness... But I cannot help but drift back to the macabre settings of Poe's fantastical proses. They are thought-provoking in a most deep manner. The proses in which the character reflects on a most harrorwing experience are perhaps the most well thought out, but then again I'm a fan of the morbid, macabre, and the darkness. The most goregous and awe-inspiring works are: Ligeia, Bernice, Black Cat, The Cask of Amontillagdo, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Masque of the Red Death, The Pit and the Pendulum, Tell Tale Heart, and William Wilson. All are extremly morbid and were landmarks in todays gothic writings of America.

He was the first artist to cause Europeans to begin to realize something they have still not yet come to grips with -that their cast-offs, their formerly tired and poor huddled masses have since become not simply their equals but in all respects their betters.
