Poe did not have a happy life. His parents died when he was three, his foster father was very strict, he was kicked out of college twice, he lost his college sweetheart, and his wife died. Poe wrote what he felt, dark or light, happy or sad. he was found unconscience in Boston in 1849. Nobody knows if he killed himself or if he was killed by someone else. Merry Christmas.

In the end we must accept that the few tantalizing facts we have lead to no certain conclusion. Poe's death must, probably, remain a mystery -- but the puzzle still teases and entices us. It is easy to find ourselves reviewing the stories again in hopes of finding something new, to settle the question once and for all.

Some say Poe died of rabies or a drug overdose. Don't know for sure, though.
