One: Self destruction in action.(through over drinking and confessing your crimes to the police)

Two: Manifesting self loathing. (by abusing the symbols of what makes the self admirable, i.e. love of animals into animal abuse, husband into murder)

Three: Loss of humanity. (evidenced by characters inability to stop doing what is wrong, i.e. animal abuse into killing animals into killing wife into offering ones self to police for crimes that will lead to death of self.)
