edgar's mother was a girl actor and his father walked out of his life when he was 2 years old. he left them with nothing. when his mother found out that she had a sickness she still acted. but when nobody wanted her cause she was ill and was dieing.

His foster parents were the Allans, and they raised him by that name and treated him as a son until he chose to add Poe later in his young adult life. His father did run out on him, and his mother did act until she died. After splitting with his foster parents, he later lived with his aunt and married his 14 yo cousing who soon died (of TB, I believe).
