I have just read the 'Cask of Amontillado' and do not understnad how it incorporiates the theme of romanticism.

I haven't read "Cask.." in a long time. But since you have, here is the defintion of romanticism. It was a literary period that focused primarily on the lack of control - the imagination. As opposed to the neoclassism period which was about order and logic. Romanticism focuses on emotion, the imagintion, dreams, etc.
