How to wire a flashing beacon or strobe

On a DCC lay out or not what is the procedure of installation of a track power beacon on a locomotive and DC systems, with which bulb and diodes with capacators to use,,.no idea in electronics need help in this hobby

I assume you haven't bought a decoder or looked into them much.

Many decoders today come with flashing beacons, Mars lights, strobes, ditch lights, etc.

When you go to buy a decoder, tell them you want a decoder with a flashing beacon. Also ask for a manual for the decoder. (Many manufacturers put their manuals on the Internet for downloading.)

All the smarts for the flashing beacon is built into the decoder. All you have to do is wire the flashing beacon like a headlight except that you will need a 22 ohm resistor in series with the light. Then configure the decoder to generate a flashing beacon.
