Assalam o Alaikum. I received heavy gold jewellery as gifts on my marriage from my and my wife's parents. Now i dont have enough money to be paid as zaqat for that gold. What should i do in this situation. Should our parents give zaqat for it or some other solution. Please guide me regarding this. Jazakallah Khair.

wa alaikum salam I'm in the same situation, please let me know when you get a response. I've heard so many different answers and am looking for the most reliable one. My husband asked someone from ISNA last year, i think he said that i should pay zakat if we're keeping it as a "treasure," but that we don't need to if i wear it during the year. I would like another answer, though, as i want to make sure i'm doing the right thing.
