Is there a difference between Breviaries and the Liturgy of the Hours? Or is the Breviarie just a shortened version of the Hours?

Answers

Scott, the words "Breviary," "Liturgy of the Hours," and "Divine Office" are somewhat synonymous today. Someone could quibble and say that a "breviary" is a prayerbook containing the "Liturgy of the Hours."
