I have a 5hp briggs and stratton engine on a manco go kart that I bought and I would like to know how to make it faster.

you put bigger tires on it. if it loses too much power from that put a larger centrifical clutch on it. that will give it the same power but more top end speed.

first take the muffler off and put a pipe on it. Then if u feel like possibly blowin up your go-kart u could take the govener off. Then clean the carboretour put on a bigger air filter. Then adjust the screw on the carboretour to make it idle all day. If u feel like speandin a little money get a torque converter and put that on instead of a centrifugal clutch. Then make your gear ratio about 3:1 is a good one. Finally if u want to spend some time on this make a vacum system to suck in extra air. Make a large open ended pipe and shrink it down. Go from about a rectangle of about 1ft by 6-8in. to about a 4-6in pipe which will push extra air in. Make sure the air eneters through the air filter though and u r checking the air filter frequently. Pat
