I was wondering if anyone has any biographical information or know where I can get information on Henry E. Garrett. He received his PhD from Columbia University and he was once president of EPA and APA.

According to the old APA directories, he was on the faculty at Columbia for many years, so perhaps the Columbia University archives would be the logical place to start. I note that a search on the internet turns up his name in reference to scientific racism. You might also try the APA archives. For example, the reference for his APA presidential address is posted at http://www.apa.org/archives/apapresadd.html and the archives may have more information on him.

There is information on Henry Garrett in my article "Science in the Service of the Far Right: Henry E. Garrett, the IAAEE, and the Liberty Lobby," published in the JOURNAL OF SOCIAL ISSUES in 1998. You can access the paper at:

There is also information on Garrett in William Tucker's 1994 book, THE SCIENCE AND POLITICS OF RACIAL RESEARCH (U. of Illinois Press).
