i got into a verbal discussion with the manager.the manager told me that that she is running the show and that if i didn't like it to leave.i replied, you telling me to leave? she said yes leave. so i left. filed for unemployment benefits that same day.a letter was sent to the employer asking for her point of view in the matter.i had given my side of what happened.anyway, i have receiving benefits for the past three months, and all of a sudden i receive a letter stating that the employer claims the letter was never received, and is appealing it.my question is if i lose this appeal will i have to repay the money received, and do i have any hope of even winning this appeal?

I just had to deal with this same situation. You have 20 days...that's it, to appeal. As far as having to pay the $ back...if you loose the case you will have to. However you will be able to pay back the $ to EDD in payments...make sure you ask about the payment plan option in your state.

I would look into the laws of your state for the time period in which an appeal can be filed. It is 20 days in Nebraska for example. Any appeal filed after that point would be dismissed.
