Question about header and tuning.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Hi guys,

When I got my F4S Evo 2 I had the dealer install the Header, RG3 open exahust and the chip. I have always felt like the bike was running rough between 3500 and 7000 rpm. At first I thought maybe when I break it in it will be fine. But now with a little over 2K miles it is still like that. I am looking for your opinions on this.

When I say the bike is running rough, it feels like the engine is not reving freely. It seems fine below 3500 and above 7000. Is it just me or any of you guys with the header installed see the same thing.

OK. Thanks a bunch in advance.

Cheers,

- Asok

I had the same problem with my 2002. My flat spot was between 4000 and 5500. I've replaced the RG3 chip with a custom mapped WCT chip and it eliminated the problem. The bike accelerates better at low RPM and has much better throttle response now.

Martin,

How would one go about getting this chip? Are there any other alternatives? Am I correct in assuming that the chip that you get from MV Agusta is mapped for the RG3 exhaust but does not take into account the header?

Thanks for your feedback.
