Aye, can't get in right now Josh. Was logged on at HT in the Brum v Charlton game, so it's only recently corpsed.

Brum v Charlton was a cracking game. Charlton are a really well coached team, and Scott Parker, their holding m/f player, was brilliant. This guy was available for a couple of million quid earlier this season - precisely the kind of player we need!

So is Curbishley the next Toon manager?

I'd certainly take him Jacko - best young coach in England.

He'd surely be a better bet than Souness, or Bruce, or Brian Kidd, or George bloody Graham - which is the pool we're likely to be drinking from if/when Bobby calls it a day.

Agree with you Clarky. Curbishley or Lothar Mathaus would suit me fine!

Can't agree. Curbs has done well given the parameters he's been asked to work with. But who knows whathe would do in Europe. or what he'd do with a bigger budget than he's had at Charlton? No experience in Europe and no experience of value-for-money at high xfr levels.

Make no mistake - he's a good coach. But unless we brought him in PDQ to work alongside SBR, I think it would be a mistake.

Of course, similar could be said about Steve Bruce who is also one of the names regularly mentioned. However, based on experience etc, I reckon Curbs would be a better choice (even if he does have a funny accent!
