We used to have the ice creams at Blum's in the 1960s. See oceans1129@yahoo.com for thousands of photos and hundreds of films

In the late 1940's & 50's I remember for the best sherbet in the City we went to Herbert's Sherbet Shop on Lombard and for the best french vanilla & sundaes we went to the St. Francis Creamery on 24th St. west of Potrero Ave.

I used to stop in at Garretts Ice Cream on Alemany Blvd near Ocean Ave, back in the 60's when I was a little one. Hope this helps

Blum's Ice Cream was my Grandfathers shop in Elgin Illinois.

I have quite a bit of the memorbilia including the mable counter tops and old menus.

Pretty cool stuff

The best ice cream was at Shirley's at 44th and Judah, a shop run by two recent immigrants, Paul Sade and Joe Epelbaum. Anyone remember it?

Also, does anyone recall Hoo's at 23rd and Judah, in a garage
