loss of image on conversion to .rm

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have recently downloaded the free trial versions of RM Converter and Easy Real Converter to convert avis into rm/ram. However I seem to loose the movie image and just get left with the sound track. Can anyone explain why this is and what I can do to convert the whole movie?

Thanks

Sue

If you do a web search, there is a program called TINRA that can convert RM to AVI. Real Media quality is terrible as it's probably the worst video coded there is, so the final result is often not very good. TINRA is pretty easy to use but I have seen people report similar problems to yours. Unfortunately, all I can say is that programs that convert RM to other formats either work or they don't and if they don't, there's not really anything you can do except use a video capturing program to directly record the RM stream to another format. http://www.vcdhelp.com might have some guides on converting or capturing RM that might be useful to you.
