Torrents Question

Why does my torrent download freeze? It starts up, connects, and downloads great but after 5 minutes or so it freezes and stops downloading. And when I close that download and open up the torrent file it works again as if nothing's wrong. Do you know what's wrong?

ps. this is only happening to some of my torrent downloads.

It could be that you are not uploading enough so the bt mechanism disallows you to d/l anymore from the torrent until you upload more. Or it could be problems connecting to new peers/seeds as the torrent continues to stay on.

there's no such thing as not uploading enough...hell if there's like 20 seeders and 0 leechers....you wouldn't be able to dl the file now would you cause there's no leechers to upload to....

but definitely a problem...unless you're behind a router and didn't use a filter for your phone??.....cause my dls just freezes when someone picks up the phone with no filter......

if it's not that.....sorry can't help much further than that

good luck!

Actually, I've encountered problems where there are only seeds and I'm not downloading anything when my upload total is less than 5 MB.

some trackers will disconnect leechers who modify their BT such that they're only uploading at a pathetic speed of 1KB/s.

I think its just a glich with ur PC.

How in the heck do you modify your BT to upload at certain speeds?

yes you can do it. it's something to do with command parameters (or whatever), but it's not advisable cos some trackers owners WILL ban leechers who do it.

Strange happens to me as well on some files. my download speed was only 20 and upload was 25. never had a problem before.
