A short description in the Boston obituary for Poe said he died from "congestion of the brain." I'm assuming it was a delirious state - he was physcially weak, so it is possible. He disappeared for three days after he was reported on a drinking binge and showed up in a gutter like this.

If you really think about it, Poe died on an electon day. The people running for elections would sometimes Jump random men, intoxicate them, and have them ramble on about how great the canidates are out on the streets. Yeah, Im only 14
