Melvin: From the years I spent sitting on ACL baggage floats during the 1930's in Wilson, N.C. watching trains, the baggage carts were painted a dark green, if memory serves me. Somehow I associate red with the color of the wheels. The front of the baggage cart, or the end with the pull handle, had built-up wooden stakes about four feet high upon which "ACL RR" was stenciled in white paint. Bill Sellers
