Hey my english teacher Goody Henderson is making us do a project which involves analyzing an American romantic poem and I've been assigned "To Helen" written in 1831 by Poe. However, I can find absolutely nothing including a critique or analysis of the poem. so if anyone can help me i'd appreciate it! thanks <3

I myself cant remember what "TO HELEN" is about or anything. But just read the poem as if you did not have to do a project on it. Read it with an open mind and let it speak to you in its own way.

Helen is actually about a school friend's mother. He is comparing her to Psyche, Cupid's wife, the goddess of the human soul. Hope that helps.

One of his childhoods friends mother is believed to have been the subject of "to helen." It is thought they shared a romantic relationship - she went mad and died.

I also have to write a paper in hwich i contrast Poe's poem "To Helen" and and Helen by H.D. I was wondering if you had any insight on Poe's imagery, diction, form, or tone in his poem. Your input would be most helpful ~Thanks
