Poe's mother died when he was two and his father left. He was adopted by a couple named Allan. As he aged so hurridly, his "father" never really wanted him , he went to Westpoint (the hardest military school in the country)and got kicked out on bad behavior. He asked his "dad" for a little money but he refuse to help any longer. He started writing and finally married his 13 year old cousin who also died of tuberculosis. In a nutshell his life sucked.
