I was hired a year ago by a Doctor A. (for example) who was partnered with Doctor B. The first time Dr. B saw me, he said "I don't think you can do the job" (as a medical assistant). I was horrified! Ever since then I was always scared of Dr. B. I was hired 10/15/2002. Several times he made me cry by checking to see if I do my job, called me a liar one time, accusing me of doing things that I didn't do and giving me extra work. Just simple things like this. I offered him to see what I do but he refused. He's very mean to me. About 2 months ago, Dr. A left the group leaving just Dr.B. He started to make some changes like changing payday without notice, not in writing, not paying overtime, and then about 2 weeks ago he cut down my hours to 29/wk from 40 not in writing. I felt bad because they told me that it's me and the new hire, but I found out that it was just me. I felt like my coworkers are my friends after a year of working there, so I opened up and cried. My supervisor called Dr. B to let him know what was happening. He called and he said that if I don't like working there, then I should quit. I was crying and finally have a little courage to raise my voice. To make long story short,I said I'm not quitting, you can fire me. He hang up the phone, after 15 mins. he came to the office and told me that I have to leave. He literally shew me out of the office. Didn't let me check if I have any personal belongings left, he escorted me to the back door and told me that he thinks I need to see a psychiatrist. They never really told me the reason why he fired me. On top of it all, they held a week's worth of pay but now they're saying they didn't. So I lost about a week pay. I was talking about a Dr. that I respected a lot. I found out that he had something against the employees whom Dr. A hired. He apparently fired some people before because they were hired by another doctor. Should I pursue legal matters on this or not?

i would see a lawyer that specializes in wrongful termination/harrasment- good luck !
