hi there! I have a VCD of 68 mins. I use NERO

when making image through my ASUS 52X CD Writer with the read speed of 52x too... it takes around 2 mins.

But I make image using my Samsung 52x CD-ROM it takes around 6 to 7 mins.

why it is How can I increase the CD-rom read speed I use win2000 pro with P-III 1.1GHz and 128MB ram with a 7200rpm 80GB Seagate HDD

Please help

maybe you have the wrong type of ide cable on your cdrom. Try swapping your cdrom and cd rewriter cables inside the pc and see if the cdrom is now fast and the rewriter is slow
