Why didn't the Californian come to titanic's aid?

I know there are a lot of different opinions on this subject but can you tell me yours or where i could find out some really good facts on it?

Bakc then if you said you'd make it in 3 weeks and made it in 4 even once and your shiping days were over. If the califorian had helped the titanic they would have been very very late. I'm just guessing so if i'm wrong feel free to correct me!

The titanic was only TEN MILES away and it could see the rockets clearly. So they should have been able to reach the ship and also captain lord just ignored the titanics destress signals.And captain lords alaby kept changing and WHY unless he was guilty of being able to reach would he do that?i'm not saying your answer is wrong but fROm what i have learned it does not add up.
