http://www.doom9.net has a bunch of subtitle programs for SVCD and maybe some instructions on how to use them. Please be aware that there are 2 different formats for SVCD subtitles and some DVD players don't support either, other players only support one of the formats. I would suggest burning to CD-RW until you figure out which format your DVD player supports.
