Megazoom 105 TTL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am feeling very silly. On holiday, using my camera for the first time this year, part way through a reel of film I noticed that my Megazoom 105 was not 'looking through the lens'. Have I gone senile? My memory tells me that, when I press the zoom button, I should see the zooming image, as through a TTL camera. Rather, the viewfinder looks past the turrets, which move in and out when the buttons are pressed, like a cheapo. I would very much appreciate a brief response, either to advise me that my camera is past it, or I am. Sincerely Steve

I had the same problem last September but it was accompanied by a grating (of gears) when I tried to zoom and the viewfinder failed to zoom. Got it repaired but it cost £125 for a new assembly. Not worth it as I now have another fault (letter E in display) and I've mislaid my manual. Can you help me on this please?
