im thinking of building a motorized bike with a 3.5hp, 150cc, 4 cycle briggs & stratton its an old lawn mower, vertical drive engine and im thinking of mounting it on a Y shape frame like a cheep walmart soft tail mountain bike but its hard tail and i want to mount it underneight the down tube between the tire and tube but i dont think its big enough so i might cut it off an attatch it to the top tube but does anything think that will work and be strong enough to use with a belt drive to the crank thats bent around to connect right then use the regular chain drive to the rear wheel so ill still have the gears bu66 does any one have any tips or things i could do better and how i could mount the engine secearly to the top tube and its an ovel shape not round. when im done it should be pretty bitchen and go about 45mph even if its not good on hills if any one wants pics or plans when im done email me im a few months

Sounds like its not going to work! Try and find an engine with a horizontal crank shaft and maybe a two stroke cause they're lighter! Good luck, you're going to need it.
