You can click on the thlink below to read the thread. It is interesting, because I come from California. Sadly much of the accusation is true. Californians as a general rule are a people who are very used to government interfering in every aspect of life. They like everything zoned, licensed, and controlled so that their property values stay high. I moved away from California, because of this. However, it is my opinion that Californians in general want the world to be like California. I recieved a high complement from an Oklahoman a few months ago. This lady told me I fit in here just like I was born here :) That is the nicest comeplement I have received since coming here.

Oh, it's not that way in all of California--it's mostly just where the "limousine liberals" live. Much of the problem is directly attributable to overbuilding. Apartments are one thing, and people expect to have to get along to a certain extent. But normal city lots are too small for real privacy, and unfortunately people buy these lots thinking they are the same as someone who owns 100 acres out in the middle of nowhere.

It is not wrong to want to have a nice home. I personally don't care if someone has a junkyard next door, but I shouldn't have to see it, hear it, or smell it. Obviously, the above applies to me being there before said junkyard. If you move in knowing one is there it is wrong to try to get rid of it.
