DH Lawrence says that Poe was concerned with the disintegrattion processes of the psyche. what evidence is there of this process ?

Not quite sure but I think one answer to your question would be that as he got older his writing became more and more gruesome. He was also getting more and more insane. Dont know if that helps but i thought i would put this.
