This morning, on the way to work, the CEL came on again. I drove from Finksburg to Balston and the light remained on the entire way. Once at DARPA, I restarted twice and both time the CEL came on after about 20 seconds. The Jetta had all it's power so perhaps this is not related to the new MAF.

The odometer was roughly 57,000 miles when the new Pierburg MAF was installed.

The new Pierburg MAF was waiting for me when I got home today. I used channel locks to remove the security Torx and installed the new MAF. Mr. Tom Strannix loaned me a regular Torx to install the new screws sent by Impex. As soon as the car was started, the CEL distinguished and stayed out, so far. I took the Jetta for a quick ride and there appears to be much more power than previously.
