Hi, Claire.
It's unusual for us to see six rapid-fire questions on the same topic. There is a hint that they are questions from a quiz or homework assignment. Is that the case? (We have a custom here of not doing homework for students, since they need to learn to do their own research, thinking, and writing.)
Besides the Catechism, I'd suggest that you explore this forum's archives (5.5 years, thousands of threads), which you'll find at the bottom of this page. We have, several times, discussed the topic you've raised in your questions.
Best of luck with your assignment.
John

Two great books for the layperson:

Good News about Sex & Marriage: Answers to Your Honest Questions About Catholic Teaching by Christopher West

Life-Giving Love: Embracing God's Beautiful Design for Marriage by Kimberly Hahn.

Great references as to historical Christian teaching and Scripture:

Birth Control and Christian Discipleship by John F. Kippley The Bible and Birth Control by Charles D. Provan

If you serious about wanting to investigate and understand the Church's beautiful teachings about sex and marriage...the purpose of married sexuality being unitive ("bonding") and procreative ("babies"), check out the list of resources available from One More Soul on line at www.omsoul.com.
