tiny lines scraped on the ejected polaroids

greenspun.com : LUSENET : polaroid transfers : One Thread

Just bought an SX-70 and I'm getting tiny, barely perceptable lines scratched on the film when it's ejected. Not sure where these lines are coming from or how to get rid of them. I can see them (all straight up and down/vertical) on the front and back of the film. Never had this happen with any of the One-Steps I've owned. Any thoughts/solutions would be much appreciated.

I have recently had the same problem. It could be a few different things. I found that my problem was a build up of dried (leaked) emulsion on the sides of the 'ejecting' opening where the film comes out. I took a q-tip w/ some alcholol and carefully cleaned off the build up. However, it could be your rollers. After you have finished your pack of film, carefully hold down the light shield (black, spring loaded metal piece) and clean the rolleres. Make sure that all is dry before you close camera and reload. Hope this helps. Cathy
