adulthood + age

Dear sir; At what age do most people become adults? I've heard early twenties and some say late teens. There must be some basic criteria that separates a 16 year old from a 23 yr. old. I've also heard that there are 4 basic stages in human developement - 6yrs. old, 11, 17, and 21 and at these ages we change. Thank you, Bill

Best way to research this question is to read a textbook on life- span development, which will review various theories of child development and the ways such questions are answered. The answers will also vary considerably in different cultures.

Of course, it depends entirely on one's definition of adulthood, and even then you'll only get an average because different people will meet this criterion, whatever it is, at different ages.

it was when u become old enough to take care of yourself and others.. legally it is 18 but that isnt always true.. bc some adults that are 30 still havent matured, sum 15 yr olds are more mature than sum 30 yr olds depending on how you were rasied and react to things
