it's over...isn't it?....

Alright, I don't know what other alternatives I could choose. Ever since my parents found out that the stupid-ass RIAA has been hacking and suing P2P users on Kazaa (and possibly WinMX too), I have no other means of getting anime or jpop/jrock mp3s, especially the rare ones. Anyone here know any other good mp3 search program(s) out there? Audiogalaxy was the best; hands down! It's just a stand-alone program that doesn't enable users to find more about other users. It was fast, reliable, stable, you name it. But the RIAA confronted them to court and is now long gone. Fuck, I hate it, talk about OUR FREEDOM here.... Someone needs to stand up to those greedy sons of a fucking bitch-ass executives!

The problem are not the P2P programs, it's what we do with them. That's the problem. Anyway there is TONS of different ways to download stuff. I almost never get my stuff from P2P progs. I go on some underground irc servers or on some locked FTP server or on some privates newsgroups. Seriously P2Ps sucks.

P2p programs does have their advantages. But aside from kazaa the others such as morpheus blows because there's not enough users, which also concludes the lack of file sources. Getting anime is still not a problem because RIAA do not look out for American licensing companies.

Angelo it seems like you're screwed because P2P is like the only way to get stuff. My Mom and Dad don't care if I download stuff.

sorry Killa but P2P progs is the crappiest way to download stuff. Most of the P2P users don't want to share their stuff and you have to queue everything and wait for hours. Napster was great because everyone was sharing a lot and you could find anything and download it very fast. Kazaa, Morpheus, WinMX sucks.

P2P does not suck.

Apparently you do not know that eMule and BitTorrent still yields excellent results.

David you may have a point there, however, how else are we gonna get these files we want, you know any other than P2P?? I never knew about this situation (with the RIAA) till' I got home here in NJ. Last time I was active on WinMX, most of the users were not sharing their files. I had them IM and talked to them why the hell aren't they sharing any files. The same answers I got was, "I'm on work right now, I'm using a comp. that's on a LAN network here." Bullshit! Real thing was, they were just afraid that they might get caught, while, I being generous and all that, were trying to d/l and I couldn't cause' those stupid-ass good for nothings are afraid to take risks. I fucking hate people who are like that; who only likes to take chances.

No Angelo. People doesnt frear RIAA, they just don't wanna waste their bandwidth with file sharing. RIAA can't do anything against us until the win their cause (with will never happen because they would have to break laws to do what they want. The only reason why P2P progs sucks is because the users who use em are cheap and imature.

Who really cares if they're cheap and immature?

Just as long as you get files from them, I couldn't care less...

I admire your analogy David, but WE are pretty much the ones who are not (really) following the rules; although not in a necessitive way. However, the RIAA are doing some breaking-the-rules of their own, such as hiring hackers to do their work for them, forcing ISPs to give out personal identifications of their subscribed users. To me, I only d/l a few mp3s, not the whole fucking album! You mean to tell me that I'm better off cashing in $15+ for a fucking CD I didn't know only has 2 or 3 out of 10 that are good? That's utterly a total bullshit! I think America should follow in on how the Japanese music industry does things. I think these artists here in North America should release CD singles before the actual full-length CD comes out. That way, people would get some taste of the EP.

The root of the problem is, people download songs not because some ST on the CD is crappy, it's because you can get it for free without any worry. [sarcasm]We can maybe see a few generous people buying music CD provided they provide only good songs in it[/sarcasm].

You're right, people who took things for granted brought along those who are (indeed) supporting the artist(s). I gotta thank these good for nothing assholes for bringing others down in turmoil with them. Buncha thanx

Here are my stance on multimedia and software:

Music: Downloaded 10 mp3s in my whole life and never touched a music CD so I couldn't care less if RIAA decides to shut down kazaa. American movie: I go to the theater, I don't use bt and I don't buy dvd. Anime: It's the only thing I fully support downloading online and am totally against the dvd buying. Games: Buy them, the ones I have bought is worth it so I decided to not be a cheapskate and use bt. Apps: Same as above.

They can't shutdown KaZaa since the company isn't located on any American soil. However, they can only harm those who use it in the populace. You may not have a problem on the matter, but some of us honest people do. For anime, I don't buy the series volumes cause' why'd the hell would I pay $30+ for 2-3 eps.? I only get the full-length movie ones. But I don't download them. I have a great respect towards the diligent people who's in the anime/game industry, and I won't do anything that'll cause a shortcoming for them. I don't need to say something about games cause' I'm on the same level with you there.
