Wonderful book

I just read a wonderful book. The Spirituality of a Diocesan Priest. It is a collection of essays by priests (one a canon lawyer), and bishops.

It was very informative about how priests see themselves and their spiritualtiy.

One view that emerged was that priests see themselves as a part of the Church community. Not above it, not secluded, but a centerpiece in the Community on par with the community members.

It was great. God bless,

Thanks John sounds interesting, Ill keep an eye out for it. Im about to start reading the "classic" Thomas Merton "New Seeds of Contemplation" as Ive never read books with a spiritual focus but I think its about time I shut off from the apologist type discussion and try to get to know Jesus, something I keep putting off... I think I need to cancel the satilite sports... Merton doesnt stand a chance up against live rugby!

Blessings

Kiwi, Your post may have started something here.

I just picked up Thomas Merton's "No Man is an Island". I started on it last night. I found it in the bargain section of Barnes & Noble bookstore, while just browsing.

Very good, thank you for the "seed".

God bless,
