http://www.doom9.net has some subtitling software that may help you. There are many problems with SVCD subtitles. Some DVD players don't recognize them. There are 2 different ways to make them and some DVD players only recognize one format. Finally, I don't know if any software DVD players for the PC will play them or not. I did notice that if I made a subtitled SVCD I could not burn it as a BIN/CUE image or the subtitles never played on my DVD player. I had to load the SVCD video file directly into Nero using the SVCD template to get it to work. I don't have a lot of experience with this as I basically abandoned SVCD last year. I consider it a dead format now that DVD burners have dropped in price. There are some people at http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/70438 who still work with it. Technically this is a VCD forum and a SVCD question is a bit off topic for us.

Are you using Substation? Because I'm pretty sure it worked for me.
