I am sopposed to write a paper about the poem The Raven. I am trying to write how the cultural aspects influence the translation of this poem to portuguese language. Could anyone help me?

Sure, we would help you, but what do you mean with "cultural aspects"? About Poe's time? About Poe's subject? About America, or Portugal? Do you allude to Pessoa's translation? or to some much earlier one, from the pen of Brazilian writers? If about Pessoa, are you alluding to some narrowed (comparative?) notion concerning problems of alcoholism? About "The Raven", the best thing should always be to begin with Poe's own comment on it, as exposed in his well-known "Philosophy of Composition", easily available in various common editions (in Portuguese too), or, on line, at www.eapoe.org.
