Someone has to know this about Nero

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Can I use Nero to encode an avi with divx video and mpeg layer-3 audio as a a VCD mpeg format file and make it its own file, like as a permanent one on my pc, not just a temporary one to burn to disk? Actually i have no clue how to encode VCD mpegs from avis at all with Nero, so maybe it does this already and i just dont know. Please help me. This 1 video file is giving em a lot of trouble.

Scratch this question. Now im just looking for a constant bitrate encoder for the audio.

U can Use TMPGEnc to encode - make VCD and the burn it with nero. Hero will add all necessary files needed to make it autoplay. I recommend this option.

Or U can simply add avi to nero express wich will encode the avi and then burn it to the media. I do not recommend this option because the output VCD or SVCD will not have the same quality as with TMPGEnc.

Or U can use All Video Converter to convert and then Nero to Burn.

Or forget it all and take a day off.

Good Luck

BeSweet GUI at http://www.doom9.net (look in the Downloads section) can do all kinds of audio conversion and should be able to help you. You will have to convert the MP3 file to MPEG-2 audio, sometimes called MPA in BeSweet.

1 more question. i notice a great deal of loss of quality in output and input files in TMPGEnc. How can i fix this. The main difference is output file video size. (its much smaller)
