I use the 85 grain in my 25.06 for pigs and varmint. Excelent round, great accuracy, great ballistics and they stop anything in its tracks. I have not noticed any increase in fouling. A truly great product.

I use 130gr. Ballistic Silvertips in my .270WSM and have killed 9 deer so far. Shots mostly behind the shoulder (broadside & quartering) and neck. No deer ran more than 50 yards; with most dropping within 2 steps of where i shot them. Great bullets for deer.

I shoot a H&R single shot 223 with 50 grn ballistic silver tips. I hunt deer and hogs and I also do a lot of long range shooting. I have yet had a any animal walk off. I shot a doe at 200+ yards this year she was facing away but looking back at me so I aimed at the base of her neck and shot. She droped right where she stood. After talking to the processer I was informed that the round went in right above the rear of the deer and shattered ever vertibray in her back befor it exited the back of her head. Many people dont believe in a ballistic tip for hunting deer are what ever their game may be; however, the bottom line is shot placement. Plus lets say you are shooting a round that hits with a great force and it dont slow down on the pass threw (is it really doing what you want it too) Now take a ballistic tip that has the same energy except it opens on impact causing maximum damage and continues threw the animal.

they suck

I have fired 300 plus of these in a Rem. M7 7MMSAUM and have found no decrease in the accuracy of the rifle, nor any increase in the particle buildup within the barrel as compared with any other round I have fired. I have been thouroughly impressed by them and will continue to use them. They have an extremely high ballistic coefficiency.

i have been using the win.ballistic silver tips in 26/06&7mm mag for the last 3 seasons whatever they hit dies quickly period. as for cleaning i use 50%butch's bore shine 50% kroil it seems to work very well they also offer excellent ballistics.

I shot two whitetails this fall using the Winchester Balistic Tip CXP2 150 grn out of my Remintngton 700, 30-06. I have never seen a deer drop any faster. I will probably never shoot anything else now that I have shot with these. It does seem to rip up the insides of the deer but I wasted no meat in doing so. As for the barrel foul up I have noticed no diference in any other round I have shot.

Well,...they do look cool.

I have fired about a box and a half of Winchester's Ballistic Silvertip 165 grain through a new Browning 30/06 auto. I killed a mule buck in Colorado and two whitetails in Missouri. The bullets performed flawlessly putting each animal down almost immediately. The barrel did not seem any more fouled and in fact it appeared to be cleaner than after a comparable number of Winchester standard rounds. I am still not sure whether they are worth the extra money but for the number of rounds I shoot each year will likely stay with them.

I recently switched to the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip (CXP2) for my .3006. I have not yet shot any deer with it, but I have fired several (five) boxes at the Range. In reference to your question, I actually found that my barrel is not as dirty after firing a box of CXP2... compared to other brands. I am pleased thus far... we'll see how effective of a killer it is this November... when gun season starts!

i have tried moly bullets and found no or vary little to gain, except a few fps(not enough to make a difference)and have quit using them,i have heard that it can cause barrel problems as it traps filth under the coatings left in your barrel after each shot,i did not have any problems like that, just couldnt find justifacation for the extra work and mess(i coated my own)bobby
