Apparently folks in Lawrence are seeing mountain lions on the KU West Campus (site of last spring's OK KU Chapter O' event). Here is a story from the Journal World:

I fear this may complicate acquiring university permission for future events, not that we absolutely have to ask.

For anyone wondering, the best way to deal with mountain lions is to scare them. Try to look as big as possible (such as by putting a person on your shoulders or opening your coat like a NYC watch salesman), and throw stuff at it. If it's paying you any attention, you have to convince it that you're not worth its while. (Thanks to the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook.)
