Brother Gray,

I don't know the exact year, but tithing is biblical

. Malachi 3:10

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

And for those who don't think we are still under "Old Testament" law (we are, unless Jesus modified or codified the rule): Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Be thankful the church does not ask for the correct tithe amount (which is 28%).......Be happy giving 10%, which includes not just your money, but your time and your talent.....

I have been tithing for the past 8 years and my comment is it's amazing especially how much more GOD gives me. I'll challenge anyone to try it.

Is it okay to tithe to a smaller church. Do you have to tithe to your own church? I have been told that you tithe where you receive your blessing but in some cases that may not be your local church.

See Galatians 6:6-10. This teaches that one ought to tithe or give gifts to the person or group from whom one is fed spritually. Personally. I tithe and make offerings to the church where I am the pastor. I also make a regular offering to the church of which I am a member. And sporadic contributions are made to various ministries. Thgis works for me, but may not be for everyone.

Be Blessed
