Can anyone advice me, miniDV tape quality is equivalent to VCD or DVD ? My camcorder is Sony TRV33.

Answers

Since MiniDV has a resolution of 720x480 and 30FPS for NTSC areas and 720x576 and 25FPS for PAL areas, I'd say it's closer to DVD quality then it is to VCD quality.

But when I say this, I also have to say that you will never get full DVD quality with a camera itself, you need proper lighting, especially for indoor scenes. In the dark, you'll get bad quality generally, and in outdoor scenes with the sun shining, you might get near-DVD quality.
