In Poe's story "The Golden Bug" he uses a cryptograph to translate hidden meanings. If you go to www.knoeingpoe.thinkport.org there is a crytograph translator. I my self have no decifered it yet. But I do know that a cryptograph code consists of just reversing the alphabet by moving each letter to the next one to change the letters meaning.Hope I helped.
