Is the Eucharist cannibalism?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I am a recent covert to the Church so if this question seems completely absurd, please forgive me. It’s an issue for which I need greater understanding.

If the Eucharist is or becomes the literal body and blood of Christ, how is it not cannibalism?

I WENT TO THAT LINK YOU PROVIDED MATEO AND IT WAS VERY VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD SUGGEST TO ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS THIS QUESTION TO ALSO VISIT THE LINK.
