WHY DOES THE BAR have a right sided ejection port, but also have a LEFT sided chambering BOLT DAMMIT?!

Why does the Browning Automatic Rifle have a bolt on the left side and an ejection port on the right? So that one may actuate the bolt while maintaining a grip on the trigger (assuming they are right handed), some may say.

But really, for no reason at all.
