Denominations and World Religions

A denomination doesn't save you. We are saved by the grace of God through faith. (Eph 2:8). Anyone trusting in a religion or organization to get them to heaven are going to be in for a real shock when they are judged. (Mat 7:21-23)

Salvation is located IN Christ Jesus, that is, it is IN His body, the church. (Ephesians 1:22-23). One CANNOT be saved outside of that body or in denominational bodies.

"No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God's approval" (1 Corinthians 11:19).

Your Christian group affiliation does not save you - whether you label it denomination or not.

If you are a child of God, you will seek (and thirst for) the nearest church where your spiritual brothers and sisters meet. The Spirit in you will draw you to your Spiritual Family like water is drawn to water.

It's entirely possible that you can be a child of God with no other members of your Family in the area. For example, imagine a Muslim hears the Word and believes and is born of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He will seek other believers who also have the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He will want to be admitted into fellowship with them through Baptism. He will want to unite physically with them through the Supper.

The Spirit inside calls to the Spirit outside.

Birds of a feather etc.

A duck will rarely hang out with a group of eagles. And a duck hanging out with a group of eagles doesn't make the duck an eagle. He may try to mimic the eagles, but he won't have the nature of the eagle. He'll never be able to soar like an eagle.

Also, an "out of place" eagle may hang out with a group of ducks, but when the eagle recognizes his real family soaring above and recognizes his identity, he's outta there.
