Was "The Matrix" based on a Japanese comic?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

It seems that "The Matrix" would of been something that would of been created in Japan not the U.S.A, but does anyone know if it is something from Japan or did the the guys who made it just like anime?

Well there are some good comics by "Top Cow" (U.S. comic company), like.....

1. Fathom

2. Witchblade

3. The Darkness

It's not anime, but it's still good.

lmao, The thought of the Wachowsky bothers drawing up a manga....

They could make it a pop-up anime book. You can watch Neo and Agent Smith 'fly' through the air fighing, and pull little tabs to make them punch each other.

Its all outta the Wachowski's heads, but i should list that they are big Kung Fu fans and they like comics too, so whos to say they didnt base parts of it on stuff they read or saw in Asian comic books.
